Hal’s Sunday Column: Hunting Hunter
My column this Sunday morning will unpack all we know about the plea deal the Trump-appointed US Attorney will present to the Trump-appointed federal judge Monday to resolve the long-running Hunter Biden imbroglio.
I’ll address the charges that have been specified in the plea deal as well as the allegations that have not.
The plea deal may provide a resolution to Hunter Biden’s legal exposure, but it doesn’t begin to address the ethical issue of Hunter’s influence pedaling.
While Hunter may avoid any further criminal exposure, assuming the Trump-appointed federal judge accepts the plea deal, the President has some explaining to do, or the influence pedaling controversy will continue to roil 2024 election discourse. Hunter may not be “going away,” as they say, but neither is the controversy.
