Yes, it was a good election - according to all sources. Yes, the differences in state reporting reflects the state election laws (what to count, when to count, when to start counting) but performing the count was never really in doubt. For a good primer on American elections consider Bill Bennett's America, the Last Best Hope which discusses every election from Washington to Reagan.

The 'bad' candidates the GOP produced were a result of poor primaries, Democrat crossover votes, the prior President's behaviors, and poor campaigns that did not properly respond to abortion attacks and the false 'democracy in danger' accusation .

Regardless, the results are valid and the nation needs to go forward - not left, not right, but forward.

I think the stars were aligned for the Democratic Party, I think that those who’s number one concerns were inflation, crime, immigration and the economy and we’re unhappy were reenergized by the overturning of Roe and once again went democratic, then to make matters worse for the rerpublicans Trump before the midterm election gives the impression that he will shortly make his announcement on running in 2024. I believe that set the stage for every voter that detested him in 2020 to get reenergized and vote against for anything that trump touches

Lastly I believe that the republicans took the midterms for granted and accept for a few put up a poor list of candidates to choose from

My 2 cents

Thank you to all the young aware people on college campuses across the country who voted in record numbers knowing that Roe was only the beginning of the eliminating of our basic rights. They waited hours in long lines to vote. Education matters.
