I agree that at best tariffs are only useful as temporary measures. The issue with China and EVs may be a good example. I don’t know how we get through the next four years - other than to pray we get through it and find some reputable younger candidates in 2028.

That’s it in a nutshell. In a policy-by-policy comparison, Biden is smarter than Trump. So we must vote, however reluctantly, for Biden. Any abstention or protest vote for a third party candidate (even if philosophically satisfying) is a vote for Trump.

Both candidates from the extreme edges of the major parties are deeply flawed. Neither is very smart and neither are their advisers - economic and other. Yes, threats by the majors shutdown what could have been a bipartisan ticket - but I cannot vote for a fool, lier, or lifelong politician who easily turns against allies - so that eliminates Biden and Trump.
